To Listen Is To Live: New Collaboration Between Oir Es Vivir & AVID Language

Four fantastic books from the Avid Language collection are the center of our new hearing health project in Panama!

“Fundación Oír es Vivir from Panama is happy to announce the launch of a new educational program in schools, which will give kids the opportunity to learn about hearing health, hearing aids, cochlear implants and inclusion while they enjoy an entertaining storytelling activity.

We have made GIANT copies of 4 books to make sure we can deliver our messages with MORE IMPACT, MORE INTENTION and more FUN.

 

In an international collaboration with Avid Language (UK) and Club Kiwanis Las Gardenias (Panama) we will be offering all year round, this wonderful activity to improve kids’ reading abilities and comprehension through the messages conveyed in stories where characters deal or live with hearing loss.

It will also be a great opportunity to educate and discover the power of early hearing detection as we will also be including hearing screening exams in each visit.

Tanya Saunders, Founder of Avid Language, was fortunate to meet Giovanna initially online in a CIICA Conversation and then in person at the CIICA Global Conference in Brussels last year.

At the conference, I was able to share some of our books in Spanish with Giovanna. Shortly thereafter, she contacted me with an idea for an awareness-raising project across Panamá.
