Kenyan Students Graduate in AV Therapy
GFCHL (Global Foundation for Children with Hearing Loss) are pleased to share some exciting news that is a direct reflection of your benevolence and engagement with our organization. Last week, we celebrated the graduation of our first cohort in Kenya to complete the GFCHL’s two-year, intensive professional development program in Auditory-Verbal Therapy!

This is a significant milestone in a country that has very limited habilitation resources critical for young children with hearing aids and cochlear implants. Many regions have no such support at all, necessitating long, costly, and unsustainable trips to Nairobi.
Our 19 graduates come from five counties (states) throughout Kenya. They return to their communities empowered with expertise and skills to guide local families in helping their babies and young children with hearing technology develop listening and spoken language. They are leaders who will be involved in sharing their new knowledge with others to make the benefits exponential and sustainable.
