Usher’s Summer Camp Opportunity in the USA

Qais Khan, board member of CIICA, attended a summer camp in New Jersey, USA. He has been mentoring some amazing kids who have Usher Syndrome, which affects their hearing, vision and balance. This summer camp aims to provide a traditional American camp experience but adapted to accommodate their condition. It’s important to show younger generation what we can achieve through activities and made them realise that despite our condition, we are capable of anything!

Represented by UsherKids UK, I am incredibly grateful to be a part of this fantastic experience, surrounded by remarkable individuals I’ve had the pleasure of meeting from across the United States and Australia! Some of the kids haven’t met anyone who has the same condition. As role model and mentor for these incredible kids, it’s great to recharge, connect, and share our similar challenges and experiences with them during this summer camp! – Qais
