Progress Report from Barnplantorna, Sweden: Family intervention/hearing rehabilitation
Barnplantorna, the Swedish organisation, surveyed early intervention teams across the Swedish regions. Their report is launched, and tells us that there is a long way to go before national guidelines are established for services for today's children and families.11 March 2022Read more
HLAA: Voice of the Patient Report now available
The Hearing Loss Association of America held an Externally-Led Patient-Focused Drug Development (EL-PFDD) meeting. During the meeting, we were able to hear from patients regarding hearing loss symptoms and treatments. The “Voice of the Patient” report is now available online. The Columbian President promotes inclusive masks
Professionals, associations and users drove the change about masks and the need for clear masks in Columbia. The President sanctioned the law to promote the use of inclusive masks to improve communications for people with hearing disabilities. Patricia Faletty tells us more.18 August 2021Read more
UK annual CI update: 2020-2021 data now available!
The British Cochlear Implant Group collects data from all CI centres in the UK and publishes this data on their website: www.bcig.org.uk The data from the time of the pandemic is interesting and shows the reduction in numbers receiving implants during this time, but also reveals the number of CI which were achieved in this challenging period.4 August 2021Read more

NORDIC ADULT CI ACTION GROUP ONLINE
The Nordic Adult CI Action Group met online - from Norway, Sweden, Iceland, Finland, Denmark - and shared the evidence from the WHO World Report on Hearing and the CIICA summaries, which will now be translated into the Nordic languages.
