CIICA CONVERSATION: INFLUENCING GOVERNMENT & DECISION MAKERS TO IMPROVE CI PROVISION
TUESDAY 17 June 2025
SUMMARY AVAILABLE SOON.
In making policy changes it is vital to influence the decision makers. This interchange of ideas from leading advocates across the globe working on hearing loss and CIs discussed what has been successful in persuading governments, health departments and decision makers to invest in hearing services and what you can do within your context. Chaired by Anita Grover, CE of Auditory Verbal Therapy, who was previously also a senior official in the UK Government with case studies from successful advocacy campaigns and who herself is a CI user.
She was joined by Tori Bishop Rowe, who works with Anita on their very active campaigns with the UK Parliament, with Steve Kittur from Kenya, who has recently been successful in establishing newborn screening in Kenya with government support and Brian Lamb, Public Policy Advisor to CIICA, who has run many successful policy campaigns for both adults and children.
