CIICA Events
We have two types of CIICA EVENTS: CIICA LIVE and CIICA CONVERSATIONS.
CIICA LIVE events have presentations from our global Community Members on a specific topic that has been suggested, and discussion is encouraged in the chat room. They last 90 minutes, are captioned and the presentations are available afterward for those who missed them or would like to share them.
CIICA CONVERSATIONS are for small groups to discuss a suggested topic for a short time: one hour. The conversations are facilitated by some of our Community Members, captioned and the summary of the issues which emerged are published on the website afterward.

CIICA LIVE: CI ADVOCACY IN ACTION
CI ADVOCACY IN ACTION, our live conference in Brussels was an amazing event with 100 delegates from 29 countries, including 38 CI users. This CIICA LIVE on line event, chaired by Professor Holly Teagle, heard further from some of the speakers as they shared reflections and plans which have emerged from this vibrant meeting. It also shared our new resource - A Practical Guide to CI Advocacy. Have a look a the resource and at the captioned presentations.
CI ADVOCACY IN ACTION: FIRST GLOBAL CONFERENCE MAY 2024
CIICA's first conference: GLOBAL CI ADVOCACY IN ACTION, in Brussels at our legal home was inspiring and global. 100 delegates from 27 countries spent 2 days communicating, exploring their advocacy successes and challenges. With over a third of the participants CI users or parents, there was true representation - Nothing about us without us was a reality! Photos and presentations here now.
CIICA CONVERSATION: YOUNG ADULTS: ACCESS TO MUSIC, THEATRE, CINEMA
This Conversation shared experiences of playing music, singing, and listening to music. It also considered accessibility at the theatre and in the cinema.
CIICA CONVERSATION: Parents’ Groups: Changing Mindsets: How do you do it?
World Hearing Day 2024 is about Changing Mindsets. How do you change mindsets about deafness in the family and about CI? How does your group do it? Are you successful? READ THE SUMMARY OF THE INSPIRING DISCUSSION.
Person Centred Care: Measuring Quality of Life

CIICA CHATS offers an opportunity for informal conversation where we can get to know each other, share our experiences, and make friendships from around the world.
CIICA Conversations: How’s your social life going?
The seventh conversation for young adults aged 18 to 30 with cochlear implants focused on how your social life is going. This includes managing various environments and situations. READ THE SUMMARY.
CIICA LIVE: CI SERVICES MATTER
CLEARLY CI SERVICES MATTER. The CIICA global survey on the CI services adult users get and what they would like had over 1,000 respondents from over 40 countries and the report is to be launched on 3 November. The report and its recommendations were explored and presented at this event.
