CIICA Events
We have two types of CIICA EVENTS: CIICA LIVE and CIICA CONVERSATIONS.
CIICA LIVE events have presentations from our global Community Members on a specific topic that has been suggested, and discussion is encouraged in the chat room. They last 90 minutes, are captioned and the presentations are available afterward for those who missed them or would like to share them.
CIICA CONVERSATIONS are for small groups to discuss a suggested topic for a short time: one hour. The conversations are facilitated by some of our Community Members, captioned and the summary of the issues which emerged are published on the website afterward.

CIICA CHATS offers an opportunity for informal conversation where we can get to know each other, share our experiences, and make friendships from around the world.

The seventh conversation for young adults aged 18 to 30 with cochlear implants focused on how your social life is going. This includes managing various environments and situations. READ THE SUMMARY.
CIICA LIVE: CI SERVICES MATTER
CLEARLY CI SERVICES MATTER. The CIICA global survey on the CI services adult users get and what they would like had over 1,000 respondents from over 40 countries and the report is to be launched on 3 November. The report and its recommendations were explored and presented at this event.
CIICA CONVERSATION: WHY PARENTS’ GROUPS?
Parents' groups drive CI services in many parts of the world, but it can be demanding. This Conversation enabled parents to discuss their opportunities and challenges and why they are necessary. READ THE SUMMARY.
CIICA CONVERSATION: Tinnitus and CI users: one person’s hiss is another person’s sizzle
This CIICA CONVERSATION allowed you to explore with others the impact of tinnitus on everyday life. How much you are affected by your tinnitus? In what situations does tinnitus disturb you most? What about tinnitus and audiology appointments? SEE THE SUMMARY HERE
CIICA CONVERSATION: Travels with my Cochlear Implant

Moving on with Person-Centred Care in CI Services
Our Conversations have explored “reimagining rehab” and the value of person-centered care in CI services – issues also raised when discussing the Living Guidelines project for adults. Where do we go from here? The lively wide ranging conversation discussed the challenging issues for both patients and clinicians - and parents.
CIICA LIVE: THE LIVING GUIDELINES: IMPACT ON ADULT CI SERVICES AND ACCESS?
The final Living Guidelines will be launched 14 July. This CIICA LIVE event gave a brief update on them and shared great ideas from advocacy groups and professionals from across the globe as to why they are important and how they will use them to change CI access and services.
